Good Things Come To Those Who....

Well, as it turns out, to those who actually 'write' when they say they're going to write.

Welcome to my blog! My new blog that marks a new age where I can actually semi-herald myself as a 'published author'!  Today my first short eBook Poppy and The Devil is released and, whilst it's an 8000 word gothic piece of horror, dealt by my fair hands and imagination, it is the thing I have been needing to do for  a long time.  I have been needing to focus on finishing something, I have been needing to focus on confidence and stepping into this new and exciting phase of my life.  I have been needing to publish something, to throw caution to the wind and prove to myself that it could be done.  So, yes, it is yet to be a full-length novel surfing the shelves of Waterstones, but it is a great step forward into the world of published fiction and I'm as proud of Poppy as I am all my work.

Tonight I am hosting a launch event at Divine Coffee House in Sherwood, there will be things to buy, things to see, chai lattes to consume and cake to devour.  But, and perhaps most of all, I hope to be surrounded by friends and family who have supported my wild and wacky ways from the beginning, to have a celebration of moving forward, to raise our glasses to Poppy...and beyond!

So, it seems fitting to thank the people who helped to make my eBook a reality - firstly to Gillian Davies who created an awesome front cover.  A big thank you to Emma Sasai whose editing was spot on and to Icy, Lexie and Jill, who were awesome proofreaders way back when I first fumbled together a first draft.  Thank you to friends and family who continue to be so supportive of my work and my mad ideas, this story and everything after, is dedicated to you!
